MONTGOMERY, Ala. (May 4, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, fell behind by five runs after two innings for the second straight game and could not recover, falling 7-2 to the Montgomery Biscuits Saturday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
Luis Madero (0-2) gave up the five runs, but only two were earned runs. For the second consecutive night, the Biscuits (18-10) took advantage of a fielding error and went on to score four runs in the second inning. Madero completed five innings and faced the minimum in his last two frames.
With the BayBears trailing 7-1 in the ninth, Jhoan Urena belted his second home run of the season. It was the third straight game with a Mobile long ball, after Julian Leon hit one in consecutive games Thursday and Friday.
Brendan McKay (1-0) held the BayBears (12-16) to one run on three hits with seven strikeouts to earn his first Double-A win. Brendon Sanger scored the only run against McKay on one of two wild pitches in the third.
