MOBILE, Ala. (April 20, 2018) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, dropped the series finale to the Biloxi Shuckers 15-5 Friday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
The BayBears (7-7) climbed out of an early 2-0 hole with runs in the second, third, and fourth. Brennon Lund scored the tying run in the third on a passed ball, and Riley Unroe put Mobile in front 3-2 with an RBI single the following inning.
However, the Shuckers (10-5) exploded for five runs in the fifth inning to knock Luis Pena (0-2) out of the game, and Jake Hager led off the sixth inning with an inside-the-park home run. After a two-run Taylor Ward homer cut the Biloxi lead to 8-5, the Shuckers added seven runs of insurance over the final two frames.
Hager and Lucas Erceg both went 4-for-5 in the game. Erceg hit his first home run of the season in the first inning and drove in four runs.
Thomas Jankins (3-0) earned the win, going 5 2/3 innings and allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits.
