ESPN's Karl Ravech to Headline Yard Goats Hot Stove Luncheon on January 23rd

The Yard Goats Hot Stove Luncheon is open to the public and tickets may be purchased for $50 per person or $500 per table of ten (860-246-4628) with the proceeds benefiting the Yard Goats Foundation, a 501 (C) (3) non for profit organization. This is a great event for any baseball or sports fan and will feature a speaking segment along with raffles and a chance to win autographed memorabilia and other great prizes.
Karl Ravech is the primary host of ESPN's MLB studio and pre-game show, Baseball Tonight and has been a regular part of the Monday Night Baseball team since the 2016 season. Ravech also voiced ESPN's 2017 Home Run Derby telecast. He joined ESPN in May 1993 and has hosted ESPN's studio coverage of the MLB playoffs and World Series since 1995. Since 2006, Ravech has provided commentary for ESPN and ABC coverage of the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. During the winter, Ravech is a play-by-play commentator on ESPN's college basketball telecasts.
Chris Denorfia, who is from Southington, was named the fourth manager in Yard Goats history, and comes to the Rockies organization after spending last season with the Chicago Cubs as a coach on Joe Maddon's staff. The former outfielder played 10 years in the Major League's with Cincinnati (2005-06), Oakland (2008-09), San Diego (2010-14), Seattle (2014) and the Cubs (2015). Denorfia graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford before playing at Wheaton College (Norton, MA), where he was a NCAA Division III All-American, and drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 19th round in 2002.
In 10 seasons in the Majors, Denorfia batted .272 with 103 doubles, 17 triples, 41 home runs, 196 RBI and 56 stolen bases in 808 games. He was part of the Cubs 2015 Playoff Roster and appeared in all three rounds helping Chicago advance to the NLCS. Denorfia played for Italy during the 2009 and 2013 World Baseball Classic and batted a combined .387 in eight games across the two tournaments. After his playing career, Denorfia joined the Cubs front office as a Special Assistant to the President/GM in 2018.  
Jack Wynkoop has pitched for the Yard Goats in the past three seasons and was the Opening Day starter for each of the past two years. He is the Yard Goats All-time career leader in innings pitched (379.2) and starts (64), ranks second in strikeouts (216) and third in wins (15). In 2019, his 3.56 ERA ranked 10^th best in the Eastern League, while finishing third on circuit in innings pitched (149.0) and 10^th with a 1.19 WHIP. He was named Eastern League Pitcher of Week on July 8th after pitching the franchise's first ever complete game shutout on July 3rd against the Bowie Baysox at Dunkin' Donuts Park.
