A colorful tour through the Lugnuts' 2026 unis

With the Michigan State Spartans in town for the Crosstown Showdown exhibition, Devin Taylor and the Lugnuts took the opportunity to show off their sleek black and silver road unis at home.

The classic Lugnuts home white uniform dates back to a 2017 reveal, when it replaced the previous faux-vest white-chest/black-sleeve look. Perhaps no one knew it better than Casey Yamauchi, who played in 222 games for the Nuts from 2023-2026.

The Lugnuts' Copa identity, the Lansing Locos, first suited up in 2019. This year, the gem blue uniforms received a pink-sleeve upgrade. The players responded, finishing with a 9-4 record as the Locos in 2026.

The Lugnuts first unveiled their "Lansing" caps in 2024, but this year marked an emphasis to wear the A's inspired green and gold unis on Sundays. Nathan Dettmer took to them, impressing on the mound on a rapid ascent from Single-A Stockton to Lansing to Double-A Midland to Triple-A Las Vegas.

The last of the Lugs' regular looks was the retro 1996 gray. Myles Naylor pairs it with the retro Block L cap here for a proper nostalgic feel.

Fun fact: When the Lugnuts wore the retro grays with their gray road caps, making for a gray pant / gray jersey / gray cap look, they called it... The Groutfit.

One of many Terry Alapert designs on this list, the Lansing Olive Burgers first debuted in 2023 as part of a special appearance from American icon Joey Chestnut, who set the unofficial Olive Burger eating record at 13 burgers in five minutes. The jerseys then were a deeper green.

In 2026, they returned in a lighter shade and were sported three times, including a dramatic Daniel Bucciero walk-off to beat Lake County.

The Lugnuts have worn their black-pants/black-jersey 1896 Page Fence Giants tribute uniforms each year since 2021, when the Giants were inducted into the Michigan Baseball Hall of Fame.

Unlike the dominant Giants, the Nuts fell in defeat, but that didn't diminish a massive game from Dylan Fien.

In mid-June, the Lugnuts pulled out back-to-back beauts against Cedar Rapids. On June 12, a huge crowd celebrated with Peanuts Night with the Nuts, enjoying a Snoopy Bobblehead and an 8-4 win, courtesy of Carlos Pacheco and Ryan Magdic.

On June 13, the Lugnuts celebrated Star Wars Day with Mandalorian & Grogu-inspired unis. The game was a galactic epic, a 23-15 Cedar Rapids win featuring 48 total hits and a cycle from the Lugnuts' Jared Sprague-Lott.

One of the brightest performances of the year came in the brightest jersey, the neon yellow Backyard Baseball uni on August 7. A day after Steven Echavarria celebrated his 21st birthday, he struck out nine Lake County Captains in six marvelous innings, a performance worthy of Pablo Sanchez himself.

Halfway to December 25, the Lugnuts donned ugly Christmas sweater unis for a festive victory over Great Lakes. In Lansing, some say that the Loons' heart grew three sizes that day.

No Midwest League pitcher fired more innings than Samuel Dutton, who was a fitting starter on Margaritaville Night on June 25. The Auburn product donned the Hawaiian shirt-styled pink uniforms while twirling seven strong innings, and the Loons were wasting away again.

The lightning was on the Nuts' Marvel superhero-themed uniforms rather than in the atmosphere on June 27. It was also in Nate Nankil's bat, delivering an electrifying two-run homer as the Lugnuts charged back late.

The Lugnuts did Gryffindor house proud on Harry Potter Night on August 8, demonstrating their bravery with a late rally from a 2-0 deficit for a stirring 3-2 walk-off win over Lake County. 100 points to Lansing!

At the end of the season, it was time to think pink... with Barbie Night on August 21. These were the subtlest uniforms of the year: white across the front and the back, a pink Lugnuts name across the chest, and the familiar "Barbie" script tucked into the pink gradient on the sleeves. Plus, Jake Reinisch took flight!
