The Salt Lake Bees fell 11-3 to Round Rock in the final game of their eight-game road trip. The Express jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back, scoring another five runs in the fifth inning, two more in the sixth and one more run in the eighth. The Bees used five different pitchers on a bullpen day with only reliever Drew Gagnon getting through without allowing a run. Greg Mahle (2-2), making his first professional start, was charged with three runs over one and two-thirds innings and was given the loss. Backup catcher Angel Genao threw the eighth inning for the Bees giving up a run in one inning of work.
The Bees offense broke a 15-inning scoreless streak with two runs in the sixth inning. Eric Young Jr. scored on a wild pitch and Kaleb Cowart brought in Rey Navarro on a single in the frame. Young Jr. and Cowart collected four of the Bees six hits with two each. Despite the loss the Bees finished the road trip with a 4-4 record and remain 1.5 games ahead of second place Albuquerque.
