The Kansas City Royals announced a series of transactions on Saturday that affects their Triple-A affiliate Omaha Storm Chasers roster prior to this evening's matchup versus the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Werner Park.
Right-hander Luke Farrell 's contract has been selected by the Royals. He is expected to make his Major League debut with Kansas City this afternoon in the Royals' first game of a doubleheader. He would become the fifth member of the 2017 Storm Chasers roster to debut with Kansas City this season after pitchers Jake Junis  and Eric Skoglund , as well as infielder Ramón Torres  and outfielder Jorge Bonifacio .

Farrell at the time of his promotion ranks tied for second in the Pacific Coast League in victories (seven), in addition to eighth in earned-run average (3.83). Among the circuit's starting pitchers he ranks second in batting average against (.224) and baserunners per nine innings (10.55). Earlier this week he was also recognized as the PCL's Pitcher of the Week after posting a 2-0 record and 1.29 ERA (2 ER/14.0 IP), accumulating 18 strikeouts compared to no walks. Overall he owns a 7-3 record and 3.83 ERA (35 ER/82.1 IP) over 14 outings (13 starts). He was selected by the Royals in the sixth round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Northwestern University.
In a corresponding move, right-hander Seth Maness has been Designated for Assignment. In ten outings with the Storm Chasers, Maness posted no record and 9.77 ERA (17 ER/15.2 IP), adding eight strikeouts. He compiled a 1-0 mark and 3.72 ERA (4 ER/9.2 IP) in eight appearances with the Royals earlier this season.
As a result of these transactions, the Storm Chasers' active roster stands at 22 active players, in addition to three on the Disabled List and LHP Danny Duffy on a Major League Rehab Assignment.
Omaha continues their four-game set at Werner Park on Saturday evening versus the Sky Sox, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT. LHP Onelki Garcia (1-0, 5.40) is anticipated to toe the rubber for the Storm Chasers, with Colorado Springs expected to counter with LHP Andrew Barbosa (2-1, 5.70).
