Summary
Akron's Eric Haase ripped a two-out, two-run single in the top of the ninth inning Sunday, as the RubberDucks rallied late to clip the Reading Fightin Phils, 5-4, at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pa.

Turning Point
The RubberDucks (55-56) entered the ninth trailing, 3-2, but came off the mat to score three times against a trio of Reading relievers. Lefty Austin Davis issued a leadoff walk to Todd Hankins. Ivan Castillo moved Hankins to second with a sacrifice bunt, and Hankins stole third. After Greg Allen popped out for the second out, Ranfi Casamiro (1-4) came in for Davis and gave up a game-tying single by Joe Sever. Casamiro made his exit in favor of lefty Jeff Singer, who served up a single by Mike Papi and hit Bobby Bradley to load the bases. Haase followed with a sharp, two-run single to left field to drive in Sever and Papi and give Akron a 5-3 lead.
Winging It
D.J. Brown (1-5) earned the win in relief by working 2.2 innings of perfect relief. Brown retired all eight batters he faced, including two strikeouts. He took over for Shao-Ching Chang in the sixth with the bases loaded, and although he allowed a sacrifice fly to give the Fightin Phils a 3-2 lead, he minimized the damage and kept the Ducks in the game. Akron closer Cameron Hill allowed a run on two hits in the ninth and had the potential tying run at third when he induced a fly ball from Angelo Mora on a 3-0 pitch to end it. It was Hill's ninth save of the year.
Duck Tales
Haase was 1-3, with two walks. His two-run single gives him 49 RBI on the season. Sever was 3-4, with three singles and a sacrifice fly. Greg Allen added a single, RBI and stolen base. He improved to a perfect 15-15 in stolen base attempts.
