JACKSON, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, swung a 3-2 game into their favor with five fifth-inning runs on Thursday, beating the Biloxi Shuckers 9-5 at The Ballpark at Jackson.

The fabulous fifth helped the Generals (56-47, 17-17 Second Half) even the overall season series with Biloxi (60-43, 19-14 Second Half) and win their second series of the Second Half.
After the removal of starter Bo Takahashi after two innings, Generals right-hander Bud Jeter (1-1, 1.85 ERA) took the ball and threw three scoreless innings against one of the Southern League's best lineups. Jeter's first win of the season lowered his ERA to 1.85, the second-stingiest among Generals relievers this year. Daniel Gibson allowed two earned runs across the sixth and seventh, but shutdown frames from Kevin Ginkel and Yoan López assured the Generals of a victory that bumped their Second Half winning percentage up to .500.
At the plate, the Generals got going in the second with a bases-loaded RBI single from Jose Vinicio and a fielder's choice from Takahashi to help score another run. The fifth inning was the breakout moment for the second night in a row, as Jackson put up five runs with five hits in the inning. An RBI triple from Kevin Medrano to right-center field scored Ben DeLuzio on the first surge, but consecutive one-out, run-scoring hits from Josh Prince, Jay Gonzalez, and Marcus Littlewood later in the Generals' at-bat helped Jackson climb ahead, 7-3. Prince and Domingo Leyba would drive in two more runs in the sixth, giving Jackson sufficient insurance by going 7-for-14 with men in scoring position.
