JERSEY SHORE, NJ - JP Crawford, a BlueClaw in 2013 and 2014, was named the American League Gold Glove shortstop for 2020, it was announced by Major League Baseball on November 3rd.

Crawford, who made his big league debut in 2017 with the Phillies, just finished his second season with the Seattle Mariners.

A Phillies first-round pick in 2013 from Lakewood, California, Crawford joined the BlueClaws for the final two weeks of the 2013 season. He remains the only player drafted out of high school to play for the BlueClaws in the year he was drafted.

Crawford returned to the Shore in 2014, where he hit .295 with three home runs and 14 stolen bases. He was named a South Atlantic League All-Star (and received more votes than any other player that year).

He becomes the second former BlueClaw to win an MLB Gold Glove Award, following Michael Bourn (BlueClaws in 2004, Gold Glove with Houston in 2009 and 2010).
