CLEARWATER, FL – Jordan Dissin sent a two-strike pitch over the drawn-in infield of the Bradenton Marauders (20-17) to give the Clearwater Beach Dogs (28-9) the lead for good in a 5-3 win on Friday night at BayCare Ballpark. Clearwater resumes action as the Threshers on Saturday night, looking for their fifth-straight win against the Marauders.

The Marauders scored first for the second-straight night, with an RBI single by Jesus Castillo opening up the scoring with two outs in the top of the second. Bradenton kept the game scoreless until the sixth, with both starting pitchers combining for 17 strikeouts.

Otto Kemp reached with a one-out single to right off of Bradenton’s starter Thomas Harrington. Gabriel Rincones Jr. doubled to advance Kemp to third base. Newly introduced reliever Miguel Fulgencio balked in a run, with Kemp scoring from third to tie the game up at one. Dissin gave the Beach Dogs the lead on an opposite-field base hit to make it 2-1. With two outs in the sixth, Cade Fergus singled to center and an error by Enmanuel Terrero allowed him to advance to second with Dissin moving to third base. Chad Castillo drove them both home with a single to right center that extended the lead to 4-1.

Bradenton got two back on back-to-back RBIs by Shalin Polanco and Javier Rivas to cut the Beach Dogs lead to 4-3 in the seventh. Dissin led off the eighth with a walk against Bradenton reliever Carlos Lomeli, and advanced to second on a ground out and scored on a one-out double by Fergus to give the Beach Dogs a 5-3 advantage heading into the ninth.

Alex McFarlane tossed 5.0 innings with one run allowed on seven hits, two walks and eight strikeouts in a no-decision. Wen-Hui Pan (1-0) eanred the win in 3.0 innings of work, striking out two and walking two with two runs allowed on three hits. Jack Dallas earned his fourth save of the season in a 1-2-3 ninth with one strikeout.

McFarlane set a career-high with eight strikeouts... Dallas has now tied Orion Kerkering for the team lead with his fourth save... Rincones Jr. and Crawford are now tied for third in the FSL with 17 stolen bases... Pan earned the first victory of his pro career...
