Fowler, Duran Deliver in Debuts, Mighty Mussels Beat Marauders 4-2

BRADENTON, Fla. (August 5, 2026) - The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels defeated the Bradenton Marauders 4-2 on Wednesday night at LECOM Park.
Outfielders Bryce Fowler and Minnesota Twins No. 28 prospect Yovanny Duran both made their Florida State League debuts and combined to drive in three of the Mussels (55-47, 18-19) four runs.
Pirates No. 6 prospect Wyatt Sanford (rehabbing from High-A) led off the bottom of the first with a home run for the second straight night, putting Bradenton (45-57, 14-23) ahead 1-0 against Callan Fang.
In the second, with Quentin Young at third, Duran picked up an RBI in his first FSL at-bat with a ground ball on the right side, leveling the score 1-1.
The next inning, Fort Myers saw five straight men reach to take the lead. Carson Tinney and Colby Turner started the rally with a pair of walks, chasing Bradenton starter Zander Mueth (1-3) from the game. After Dioris Martinez entered from the bullpen, Aidan Teel blasted a double off the wall in right to make it 2-1. Fowler, an undrafted free agent signed out of Alabama, followed with his first professional hit, a two-run single. Young added the final hit of the frame and Fowler was caught trying to go first to third. The Mussels recorded three straight 100+ mph exit velocities to take a 4-1 lead.
Fang exited after 3.2 innings and a season-high 63 pitches. He left with men at first and second and just one out. Hendry Chivilli needed just three pitches to escape the jam and strand the pair of inherited runners.
Bradenton catcher Richard Ramirez connected on a leadoff homer in the sixth to make it 4-2. Chivilli worked 2.1 innings and allowed one run on one hit.
Jake Murray recorded a pair of outs but had to exit with an injury in the seventh.
Michael Hilker Jr. (S4) worked the final 2.1 innings and racked up five strikeouts to close out the ballgame.
The series continues on Thursday, August 6. Twins No. 23 prospect Matt Barr (6.75) starts for the Mussels, opposite Pirates No. 16 prospect Levi Sterling (4.24). First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:15 p.m. on the Mighty Mussels Baseball Network.
