LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The Gwinnett Braves, in conjunction with the Atlanta Braves, have announced that infielder Freddie Freeman is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Gwinnett on Saturday, July 1 in Charlotte, NC and is slated to be with the team when the G-Braves return to Coolray Field on Tuesday, July 4.
Freeman, on the Braves' 10-day disabled list since May 18 with a left wrist fracture, is expected to join the G-Braves on their current road trip in Charlotte that runs through Monday. He is then expected to be with the G-Braves for 7:05 p.m. games vs. Norfolk on July 4 and July 5 at Coolray Field.
Freeman, 27, was batting .341 with 14 home runs and 25 RBIs in 37 games with Atlanta prior to suffering the injury. The two-time National League All-Star is a career .290 hitter with 152 homers and 540 RBIs in 946 Major League games with the Braves since 2010. He has also logged 129 games with the G-Braves over three stints (Triple-A debut in 2010, rehab assignments in 2013 and 2015), batting .324 with 18 homers and 91 RBIs.
The Coolray Field Ticket Office will be open this Saturday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for fans interested in purchasing tickets for July 4 and 5 or any other remaining 2017 home game. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 678-277-0340 and online at GwinnettBraves.com/tickets.
