Freddie Freeman Slated to Rehab in Charlotte

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Atlanta Braves infielder Freddie Freeman , a two-time National League All-Star, is slated to start a rehab assignment with the Gwinnett Braves at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte on Saturday, July 1st. Freeman is currently on Atlanta's 10-day disabled list with a left wrist fracture.

Originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the second round of the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft, Freeman, 27, has appeared in 37 games with the Atlanta Braves this season and is hitting .341 with 14 home runs and 25 RBIs. In eight major league seasons (946 major league games), the Fountain Valley, CA native is a .290 career hitter with 152 home runs and 540 RBIs.
