FREDERICK, MD – September 1, 2026 – The Frederick Keys are headed to the postseason in the first year of the franchise's return to affiliated baseball. The Baltimore Orioles’ High-A affiliate clinched the South Atlantic League North Division's first-half title on June 18 with a 6-5 win over the Hub City Spartanburgers, closing the opening half of the season at 41-23 and securing Frederick's first playoff berth since 2017.
The 2026 season is already one of the most significant in franchise history. In addition to the return to affiliated baseball, the Keys debuted a renovated Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. The project, completed through a partnership among the City of Frederick, the Maryland Stadium Authority and Attain Sports, transformed the fan and player experience with expanded concourses, flexible seating areas, new hospitality spaces, new home and visiting clubhouses, and a 10,000-square-foot player performance center.
“This has been a defining year for the Frederick Keys. We returned to affiliated baseball, opened a renovated Nymeo Field, and now we’re preparing to bring playoff baseball back to Frederick,” said Slater Fuchs, Vice President of Attain Sports and General Manager of the Frederick Keys. “None of it happens without this community. Everything we do comes back to creating an affordable, family-friendly experience, delivering great customer service and giving our fans the opportunity to make lasting memories around America’s pastime.”
That community focus has shaped the season on and off the field. The Keys have paired affiliated-caliber baseball, including top Orioles prospects such as Wehiwa Aloy and Ike Irish, with family-friendly pricing and promotions designed to keep a night at Nymeo Field an affordable outing. The newly expanded concourses and hospitality spaces have given fans more room to gather, while the club has continued to make the ballpark available for community use beyond game days, including the recent Wizard of Oz Drone Show.
Frederick opens the South Atlantic League North Division Series on the road on Tuesday, September 8, before playoff baseball returns to Nymeo Field for Game 2 on Thursday, September 10. If necessary, the Keys will host a decisive Game 3 on Friday, September 11. Should the Keys advance, Nymeo Field would also host Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 3 of the South Atlantic League Championship Series.
The first 2,000 fans through the gates on Thursday, September 10 will receive a special playoff rally towel, presented by IBEW Local 24 and Rowan Digital Infrastructure. The night will close with a post-game fireworks show, sponsored by Mr. Pyro and Rowan Digital Infrastructure.
Tickets for the Frederick Keys home playoff game on Thursday, September 10 are available at Frederickkeys.com. Fans interested in tickets across all four potential home playoff games can call the Frederick Keys box office at 301.815.9900.
