FREDERICK, MD — October 1, 2026 — The Frederick Keys today announced that Branden McGee has been named General Manager, effective October 1, 2026. McGee succeeds Slater Fuchs, who has been elevated to Executive Vice President, Attain Sports, where he will oversee business operations across the company’s three clubs—the Chesapeake Baysox (Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles), the Frederick Keys (High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles), and the Aberdeen IronBirds (members of the MLB Draft League).

McGee steps into the role following one of the most significant seasons in franchise history. In the club’s first year back in affiliated baseball as the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, the Keys posted a franchise-record 83 regular-season wins and captured both halves of the South Atlantic League North Division, securing the club's first playoff berth since 2017.

The 2026 season also marked a major renovation of Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Completed through a partnership among the City of Frederick, the Maryland Stadium Authority, and Attain Sports, the project transformed the experience for fans and players alike, adding expanded concourses, flexible seating areas, new hospitality spaces, new home and visiting clubhouses, and a 10,000-square-foot player performance center.

Few executives know the Keys or Frederick better than McGee. He first joined the organization in 2006 as a Sponsorship Sales Account Manager and quickly rose to Assistant General Manager, spending more than eight years building the club's business and community operations. After nearly eight years at Flying Dog Brewery, where he rose to Director of Sales and Stadium Accounts, McGee returned to the Keys in 2022 as Director of Marketing. He was named Senior Director of Community and Operations in 2024 and has served as Managing Director since February 2025, helping guide the organization through both its return to Orioles affiliation and the stadium renovation. McGee began his career with the Baltimore Ravens in stadium operations.

In his new role as Executive Vice President of Attain Sports, Fuchs will oversee business operations across the three Attain Sports clubs. Fuchs joined Attain Sports in 2024 and has served as General Manager of the Frederick Keys since he was hired. During his tenure, he helped lead the organization through its return to affiliated baseball, the reopening of a renovated Nymeo Field, and a record-setting 2026 season. In the expanded role, Fuchs will work with leadership across each property to drive revenue growth, strengthen sales operations, and support the long-term business strategy of Attain Sports’ baseball portfolio.

”Branden has dedicated nearly two decades to the Keys and the Frederick community, and there is no one better prepared to lead the organization forward,” said Slater Fuchs, Executive Vice President, Attain Sports. “He understands this organization, this ballpark, and the Frederick community as well as anyone. What Branden and our staff accomplished this year, from bringing back affiliated baseball to opening a transformed ballpark and delivering a franchise-record season, speaks for itself. I’m confident the best is still ahead.”

“Frederick is home, and the Keys have been part of my life for twenty years,” said McGee. “Bringing affiliated baseball back to a renovated Nymeo Field meant a great deal to this community, and the way our fans responded showed exactly why. Winning both halves and reaching the postseason for the first time since 2017 gave this city something to be proud of. My focus now is building on that by continuing to improve the experience at the ballpark, deepening our partnerships across Frederick County, and giving families a reason to keep coming back.”

The Keys will open the 2027 season at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium on Friday, April 2, against the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets). The 2027 campaign features 66 home games with plenty of family fun, exciting marquee matchups, and community celebrations as the Keys celebrate their second season back in Birdland as the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
