FRISCO, Texas (August 2, 2026) - On Sunday night at Riders Field, the Frisco RoughRiders beat the Corpus Christi Hooks 4-3 to seize a series split in the six-game set.
Frisco (18-15, 57-44) scored first in the fourth inning when Ian Moller laced a single back up the middle against Corpus Christi (17-16, 48-54) right-hander James Hicks (5-10) to score Yeison Morrobel and give the Riders a 1-0 lead.
Blake Townsend (4-5) covered five innings for Frisco, surrendered just two hits and didn’t allow a run. The lefty left with the 1-0 advantage.
The two teams traded three-run innings between the seventh and eighth, as Frisco carried a one-run lead to the ninth off the back of a two-RBI single from Rafe Perich.
With the tying run on, Jonathan Brand struck out Jason Schiavone to put the clamps on the game and earn his third save of the season.
Notes to Know:
Townsend turned in his first scoreless outing since the middle of June and lowered his season ERA to 5.28.
Marcus Lee Sang had the only multi-hit game for Frisco and is 3-for-4 since returning from the injured list.
With a series split under their belts, the RoughRiders have a day off Monday before beginning a six-game road series against the Midland RockHounds Tuesday, August 4.
