'Gades tie season-long winning streak of five with win over Wilmington

Wappingers Falls, N.Y. – The Hudson Valley Renegades won their fifth-straight game, taking down Wilmington 9-6 at Heritage
Financial Park on Wednesday night.
Hudson Valley has tied its season-high winning streak of five which it set on two other occasions (7/4-9 and 4/19-24).
Wilmington led 6-5 going into the bottom of the eighth. Hudson Valley then scored four runs on three hits to take a
three-run lead.
The Renegades have come back to win 11 games from the seventh inning or later this season. Wednesday’s
comeback win marks the fourth of its kind in the second half.
Hudson Valley has won 14 games in its last at-bat this season, including three straight games, accounting for 26.4%
of the team’s total wins.
The Renegades stole five bases on the game and have 216 total steals on the year, the second-highest total in team
history. They are averaging 2.0 steals per game this season.
The club record is 230 steals set in 2022.
For a third-straight game, Maika Niu had the go-ahead hit for the Renegades, this time with a two-run double.
Renegades pitching allowed just one hit from innings two through seven.
All four of Wilmington’s hits were for extra bases (three doubles, one home run).
Renegades pitching struck out 13 Blue Rocks. The Renegades have struck out 22 batters through the first two games
and lead the South Atlantic League with 1103.
Both teams committed four errors after combining to commit just one in game one of the series on Tuesday.
The Renegades improved to 23-21 in the second half of the season and are just 2.0 games back of the second half
playoff spot.
The Renegades move to 9-11 overall against Wilmington, 6-8 against them at home, and 8-6 in the second half.
RHP Sean Paul Liñan (4.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 HR) allowed two runs in the first inning but settled down after that to
allow only two more baserunners across his outing.
Liñan has allowed two-or-fewer earned runs in four of his last six outings.
Since returning to the starting rotation on 7/31, Liñan has posted a 3.38 ERA over 16.0 IP with 6 BB and 14 K.
Liñan has struck out five-or-more batters in two of his last three games. Wednesday was his second time striking out
five-or-more since 6/7 at Frederick.
Liñan has walked two batters in each of his last three starts. He hasn’t walked fewer than two in an appearance since
6/7 at Frederick.
CF Maika Niu (1-for-3, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 BB) grabbed the Renegades’ go-ahead hit for a third-straight game with a two-run double in the eighth inning off Brady Hill.

In his first four professional games, Niu is 7-for-19 (.368/.440/.789) with a 1.229 OPS, 6 R, 2 2B, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 4 BB, 5 K, and 2-for-2 SB.
Niu has RBIs in four of five games played. He has multiple RBIs in three.

C Eric Genther (0-for-3, R, 2 BB) extended his on-base streak to 10 games.
Over the streak, Genther is batting .276/.462/.945 with 3 2B, HR, 9 R, 5 RBI, 9 BB, 6 K.
2B Enmanuel Tejeda (1-for-4, R, BB, 2 SB) is 3-for-6 (.500) with 2 BB to start the series against Wilmington.
3B Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek (0-for-4, BB, 2 K) saw his six-game hitting streak end on Wednesday but has gotten on base in all eight games played with the Renegades.
SS Jackson Lovich (2-for-4, 2 R, RBI, BB) grabbed his 29th multi-hit performance of the season (23 of which came in Single-A Tampa).
1B David McCann (1-for-3, HR, R, 2 RBI, 2 HBP) has four home runs in six games played with the Renegades.
McCann’s SLG is at .800, and his OPS is at 1.193 through five High-A games.
McCann has three multi-RBI performances in six games played and has driven in 11 runs.
DH Hans Montero (1-for-2, RBI, 2 BB) grabbed and RBI single in his first High-A game.
LF Robbie Burnett (1-for-2, RBI, 2 BB) got on base three times in his first action of the series.
Burnett extended his on-base streak to eight games, slashing .259/.412/.444 across it with 2 2B, HR, 2 R, 5 RBI, 7 BB, 11 K,
and 3-for-3 SB.
RF Camden Troyer (1-for-3, R, BB, K) has gotten on base in three-straight games.
RHP Brandon Decker (2.0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K) has not allowed an earned run in six straight appearances.
RHP Wilmy Sanchez (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K) picked up his fourth save of the year and has not allowed an earned run in nine of his last 10 outings.
