Visalia, CA – Jesus Galiz tied a franchise-record by driving in eight runs and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes earned their second win in Visalia with a commanding 14-4 victory over the Rawhide on Friday night at Valley Strong Ballpark.

Galiz tied a record that was set in August of 2017 by former Quake Ibandel Isabel and then tied just a week later by Quincy Lattimore, as Galiz had a two-run double and a pair of three-run homers in his final two at-bats.

Rancho starter Chris Campos also had a terrific night, setting a career-high with eight strikeouts over four innings of work. He allowed one run on two hits without a walk, but took the no-decision.

Leading 4-1 in the seventh, Rancho tallied five against the Rawhide bullpen to take a commanding 9-1 lead.

After Visalia put three on the board in the bottom of the inning, the Quakes went to work again in the eighth, scoring five more with Galiz capping the outburst with his second homer and seventh of the year.

Rancho reliever Fran Castro (1-0) was solid in relief, tossing two scoreless innings for his first win.

The Quakes (20-26, 59-53) will send Gabe Emmett (5-5) to the mound against Landon Sims (0-1) on Saturday night at 6:30pm.

The Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, August 22, taking on Lake Elsinore in a six-game series. Tuesday will be a Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday, as fans can log on to our website and learn how to score a FREE Club Seat Ticket to the game. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com...Go Quakes!
