Williams, Pigs extend streaks in Buffalo

Nick Williams extended his hit streak to 20 games while the Pigs won a fourth straight

The Lehigh Valley IronPIgs (39-41) beat the Buffalo Bisons (42-40) 6-4 on Monday night at Sahlen Field. The IronPigs have won four straight games and won their eighth game against Buffalo this season.

The Bisons took a 1-0 lead against Tyler Viza in the bottom of the first inning as Patrick Kivlehan hit an RBI single to score Billy McKinney. Lehigh Valley jumped ahead 2-1 as Jan Hernandez hit a two-run home run off Ryan Feierabend (4-4). The home run for Hernandez was his eighth of the season. 
Nick Williams hit at two-run home run off Feierabend in the top of the third inning to give the IronPigs a 4-1 lead. Williams has hit in 20 straight games, dating back to 2017. Jordan Patterson hit an RBI double and Bo Bichette hit an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the IronPigs lead to 4-3. 
Viza allowed three runs through 3 2/3 innings before Tom Windle (6-1) entered the game to pitch in relief. He struck out three batters over two innings and issued two walks.  Ali Castillo hit a two-run home run off Feierabend in the top of the sixth inning to give Lehigh Valley a 6-3 lead. 
The home run for Castillo was his fourth of the season. 
Tyler Gilbert earned his first save of the season despite giving up a home run to Jordan Patterson in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The IronPigs and Bisons play at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday night at Sahlen Field.
