PITCHING MATCHUP
Eshelman is making his eighth start overall and first against the RailRiders in 2018. Looking for his first win since April 13, Eshelman last pitched in a game against Buffalo last week, allowing five runs (three earned) in five innings of work in a no-decision. Rogers is making his first career start against IronPigs in his first year in Triple-A. The 2017 Florida State League All-Star is 3-3 with a 2.61 ERA in 2018.
LAST NIGHT
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs were limited to just two hits in 3-1 loss to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. The RailRiders have taken the first two games in this series and tied the 2018 Iron Rail Rivalry at 4-4. Click here to read last night's recap.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
This is the third series between the Pigs and RailRiders this season with each team winning four of the first eight contests. Home teams are 7-1 in the 2018 Iron Rail Rivalry -- an annual season series won by the IronPigs last season.
All-time, the RailRiders hold a 93-81 advantage in the series, but the Pigs are 41-37 since the start of the 2014 season. The Iron Rail series will continue in Moosic with a three game series June 19-21 before returning to Coca-Cola Park for a pair of four-game series June 25-28 and August 24-27.
NEXT WEEK AT COCA-COLA PARK
The Pigs return home Monday night for a four-game series against IL North opponent Rochester.
