(Reading, PA) - With a crowd of 8,011 people packed into America's Classic Ballpark the Fightin Phils took game two from the Harrisburg Senators by a final score of 3-1. Reading got all three runs on a three run home run by Deivi Grullon in the bottom of the 5th. Elniery García went 5 1/3 innings and allowed just one run on his way to his second win of the season.
Garcia and Taylor Hill traded zeros through the first four innings on Friday night and it wasn't until the bottom of the 5th that the Reading offense broke through. Damek Tomscha singled, Drew Stankiewicz walked and Deivi Grullon broke the scoreless tie with a three run home run to right center field and put the Fightin Phils up 3-0.
Garcia battled each inning and went out for the 6th inning with a three run lead. After loading the bases with one out, Ranfi Casimiro took over for Garcia. After allowing a RBI single to Jake Lowery, Casimiro got back to back strike outs to leave the bases loaded and hold the Senators to just the one run.
Jeff Singler came on to record the save tossing two scoreless innings and striking out a batter for his second save of the season.
The Fightin Phils and Senators will play game three of four Saturday on the 20th Annual Harley Night at 6:35.
