Shuckers To Open MGM Park on Saturday!

BILOXI, MS - The Biloxi Shuckers are headed home!

The Milwaukee Brewers' Double-A affiliate will open MGM Park with the inaugural game on Saturday, June 6 at 7:10 p.m. vs. the Mobile BayBears. MGM Park gates will open at 5:00 p.m. on Opening Night so that fans can come early to roam the facility and soak up the excitement.

"It's time to play ball," exclaimed Shuckers President Ken Young. "This is an extremely exciting time for the team, community and entire Gulf Coast. I know many have waited years and worked extremely hard to make this happen and finally it is all coming to fruition."

Shuckers' field manager Carlos Subero added, "We are excited to get into our new ballpark and continue to represent the city of Biloxi and the Gulf Coast with the same professionalism that we have had all season."

The Shuckers have defied the odds and despite playing their first 48 games away from Biloxi, are currently 29-19 and hold a 2.5 game lead over the Mississippi Braves in the Southern League South Division standings. The Shuckers have spent 40 of the first 52 days of the Inaugural Season in first place.

"This is great news for the players, staff and Shuckers fans," said Brewers President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Doug Melvin. "Carlos and his staff have done a terrific job of keeping the team focused, while the team has maintained first place during an unprecedented road trip to begin the season. The Brewers organization looks forward to the start of baseball at MGM Park next week."

The inaugural homestand continues through Wednesday, June 10 with games scheduled for 7:10 p.m. each night and a special 5:10 p.m. start on Sunday, June 7.

All tickets for June 6 have been sold. Tickets do remain for Sunday, June 7, as well as the remaining games on the home schedule.
