Jake Wong continued his great stretch of pitching on the mound. Wong goes six innings without allowing a hit, and he hasn't allowed a hit in his last 12 innings. He went six innings of no-hit baseball on Tuesday to open up the homestand against Lexington. The last time he allowed a hit was April 24th vs Hickory. He went six frames in that game as well.
Ismael Munguia wasted no time at all at the plate for the Jackets. He led the game off with his first home run of the season to make it 1-0 Augusta. Munguia has a hit in 14-straight games now.
Francys Peguero was terrific for Hagerstown after he allowed the home run. He ends up going six innings allowing just the one run.
The Suns would tie the game in the 7th though with Ryan Walker on in relief. A bases loaded walk for Pablo O'Connor evened the game at one.
The game went to extras, and in the 10th, Trey Vickers slapped a single to give Hagerstown a 2-1 lead scoring Omar Meregildo. Jacob Gonzalez drove in a run on an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th to score Shane Matheny and tie it up at two.
After Solomon Bates posted a zero on the mound in the 11th, it was Nico Giarratano's bloop single that won the game for the GreenJackets 3-2, scoring Aaron Bond from 3rd base.
