Goins & Walsh Named to IL All-Star Team

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Infielder Ryan Goins and right-handed pitcher Connor Walsh have been named to the 2019 International League All-Star Team, as announced by the International League of Professional Baseball Clubs, Inc. earlier today. 

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Infielder Ryan Goins and right-handed pitcher Connor Walsh have been named to the 2019 International League All-Star Team, as announced by the International League of Professional Baseball Clubs, Inc. earlier today. 

Goins and Walsh will represent the Charlotte Knights at the 2019 Triple-A Baseball All-Star Game, which will take place at Southwest University Park in El Paso, TX on Wednesday, July 10.

Goins, a native of Round Rock, TX, is hitting .321 (68-for-212) with 36 runs scored, 20 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 39 RBIs, and three stolen bases this season with the Knights in 66 games played. He is currently fifth in the International League in batting and fifth in on-base percentage (.411). The 31-year-old was signed by the Chicago White Sox as a free agent on December 10, 2018.

Walsh, 26, is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA and four saves this season in 15 games (21.0 IP) over two stints with the Knights after beginning the season with Double-A Birmingham. A native of Berwyn, PA, Walsh was originally selected by the White Sox in the 12th round of the June 2014 First-Year Player Draft.
