Over his last three appearances (two starts), Watson has pitched 18 2/3 innings with just two runs allowed for a sparkling 0.96 ERA. On the season, he owns a 3.69 ERA in six outings (five starts). One of Watson's keys thus far has been limiting the long-ball as he has only surrendered one home-run on the season. Watson has dominated lefties (opponents hitting just .220 against him) and has shined on the road to the tune of a 1.59 ERA.
The UCLA product was drafted in the 15th round by the San Francisco Giants in 2015. Watson is the first San Jose Giant to win California League Pitcher of the Week this year.
