The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Rome Braves 4-1 Friday at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 2,490. 

The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Rome Braves 4-1 Friday at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 2,490. 

Greensboro plated two runs in the second inning thanks to a two RBI double by J.C. Millan and a run scoring single by Rony Cabrera. The Braves made it a 2-1 game in the fifth on Marcus Mooney's single to score a run. Another run crossed the plate for the Grasshoppers in the sixth on an RBI single by Millan and Greensboro took a 4-1 lead in the eighth on a bases loaded walk. Rome was shut down the rest of the way for the 4-1 final    
Max Duvall (3-0) earns the win for Greensboro and Alan Rangel (2-5) is hit with the tough loss. Rangel pitched well scattering six hits in five innings and allowing two runs. Michael Mertz (3) picks up the save.
The Braves and Grasshoppers play again Saturday night at 6 p.m.
