The Harrisburg Senators knocked off the Hartford Yard Goats 8-4 on Tuesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The Senators scored four in the first and Kelvin Gutierrez and Brian Goodwin each added home runs as the Senators took game one of the series.

The Senators plated four runs in the top of the first against pitcher Chris Jensen to open the scoring. After Daniel Johnson and Brian Goodwin singled and walked to start the inning, Adam Brett Walker finished the scoring in the frame with a run-scoring single to left as the Senators took a 4-0 lead.
Gutierrez added a run in the third with a solo home run to left, his second of the season, to put the team ahead 5-0.
After starter Logan Darnell worked a scoreless second inning, the Yard Goats scored all four of their runs in the fourth on a pair of runs. The first was a leadoff home run by Mylz Jones and the second was a three-run blast by pinch-hitter Chris Rabago.
Neither team would score again until the seventh. After back-to-back singles by Khayyan Norfork and Daniel Johnson, Brian Goodwin, playing his third rehab game, hit a three-run home run to right to expand the lead to 8-4.
That would be the final score as Jaron Long, Jeff Ames and Ismael Guillòn finished the game with five scoreless innings of relief. Long (1-2) picked up the win with two scoreless frames while Jensen (0-2) allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss.
Johnson led the Senators offense, finishing 4-5 with two runs scored while Goodwin's three-RBI paced the club, with the home run his lone hit in four at-bats. Murphy finished 0-4 in his third rehab game.
The Senators and Yard Goats continue the series Wednesday night. Brady Dragmire gets the ball for the Senators opposite Yard Goats starter Jack Wynkoop. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Harrisburg 96.5 & 95.3 FM and 1400 AM or at www.cbssportsharrisburg.com beginning at 11:45 a.m.
