Guzman Selected to Work Arizona Fall League

FREDERICK, MD -The Frederick Keys are excited to announce that athletic trainer, Brian Guzman, has been selected to work the Arizona Fall League. It marks the first time he has been selected to serve on an AFL staff. Guzman will serve as one of two trainers for the Salt River Rafters. This club will be made up of players and staff from the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Miami Marlins, and Milwaukee Brewers organizations. <o:p>
A 2007 graduate of Penn State University, Guzman, 32, received his Masters Degree in Athletic Training from LIU Brooklyn. He served as an athletic training intern for the New York Mets in 2013 before joining the Orioles in 2014. In his first season, he was an athletic training intern for the Dominican Summer League Orioles before joining the Keys as the athletic trainer in 2015, where he has remained since.<o:p>

Guzman will join Andy Stover from the Colorado Rockies on the athletic training side. The Salt River Rafters will be managed by J.R. House, who is currently the manager for the Jackson Generals, a Double-A affiliate of the Diamondbacks. The pitching coach will be Jeremy Powell, who serves as the Advanced-A pitching coach for the Jupiter Hammerheads in the Marlins organization. Salt River will have Brenton Del Chiaro and Anthony Sanders serving as hitting coaches. Del Chiaro currently coaches for the AZL Brewers while Sanders is in a development role with the Rockies.<o:p>
The Arizona Fall League is scheduled to being on October 10 with the championship game slated for November 18. Full rosters will be announced on August 1. In 2016, seven former Keys suited up for the Peoria Javelinas, which was composed of Orioles, Braves, Reds, Padres, and Mariners farmhands.<o:p>
