SCARBOROUGH, ME - The Eastern League is pleased to announce the winners of the Eastern League Player of the Week Award and Eastern League Pitcher of the Week Award for the period of July 22nd through July 28th.

Reading Fightin Phils first baseman Darick Hall has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of July 22nd-July 28th. The 24-year old batted .310 (9-for-29) with one double, one triple, three home runs, five RBIs, nine runs scored, four walks, and a .724 slugging percentage in nine games for the Fightin Phils last week. Hall, who is a native of Sierra Vista, Arizona, reached base at least once in eight of the nine games he played in last week and had a pair of multiple hit games, including going 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored in an 8-6 win over the visiting Binghamton Rumble Ponies on Wednesday. The 6'4", 236 lb. slugger led all Eastern League hitters in home runs (3), total bases (21), and hit by pitches (3) last week and tied for the lead in triples (3). He also finished ranked among the weekly league leaders in slugging percentage (.724-2nd), runs scored (9-2nd), OPS (1.168-2nd), RBIs (5-tied 2nd), on-base percentage (.444-tied 5th), and hits (9-tied 10th). Darick, who is hitting .249 with 29 doubles, 19 home runs, 63 RBIs, and 56 runs scored in 101 games with the Fightin Phils this season, was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 14th round of the 2016 draft out of Dallas Baptist University.

Daniel McGrath, a left-handed starting pitcher for the Portland Sea Dogs, has been selected as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of July 22nd-July 28th. The 6'3", 205 lb. hurler started one game for the Sea Dogs last week and had a record of 0-0 with six strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. McGrath, who is a native of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, made his lone start of the week on Thursday night against the visiting Harrisburg Senators and fired eight shutout innings in Portland's 1-0, 10-inning loss. He gave up just two hits while striking out six batters and walking one over eight innings of work, which ties his career-high. McGrath has not allowed a run over his last 22 innings of work for the Sea Dogs and he has not surrendered an earned run with Portland since May 28th, a stretch of 46 consecutive innings. The 25-year old ranked first among all Eastern League pitchers in WHIP (0.38) last week and tied for the lead in ERA (0.00). He also ranked among the weekly leaders in batting average against (.077-2nd). Daniel, who has a record of 2-0 with one save, 71 strikeouts and a 1.46 ERA over 74 innings in 21 appearances for the Sea Dogs this season, was signed by the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent on February 7, 2012.
