The PawSox return to McCoy on Friday, April 20 to open up a three-game series against the Gwinnett Stripers (formerly the Gwinnett Braves), and will then welcome the Toledo Mud Hens to town through April 25. The Mud Hens and the PawSox will play a make-up doubleheader on Monday, April 23, with the first of the seven-inning games beginning at 4:35pm.
This season the PawSox will be hosting giveaways every Friday night, and will be distributing ceramic mugs to the first 3,000 fans at the gates this Friday night before our game against the Stripers. Ceramic Mug Night is presented by our friends at Dunkin' Donuts.
The PawSox will also continue to have fireworks shows every Saturday night, and will hold their first post-game display this Saturday evening after they take on Gwinnett. The first show of the year is "Harry Potter" themed, and the PawSox will be hosting an on-field Quidditch match between the Providence Ashwinders URI's Rhody Ridgebacks. Qudditch lessons will be available for free on Mondor Way prior to the game, so don't miss out on a Saturday filled with Harry Potter festivities, courtesy of Pyrotecnico and Cat Country 98.1. The PawSox will wrap up their series with Gwinnett on Sunday, where kids and their families will once again be invited on the field to run the bases after the game.
In an exciting new partnership with CVS Health, the PawSox will be letting kids in for free with an accompanying adult on Mondays through Thursdays all season long, and we hope fans will take advantage of this exciting opportunity during our series against the Mud Hens.
We also hope that fans will join us on Tuesday, where there will be some extra Latin flavor in the ballpark. On every Tuesday in 2018, the PawSox are changing their team name to the "Osos Polares" to celebrate the Hispanic heritage in our surrounding area. The PawSox are 1 of 33 teams (out of 160) in Minor League Baseball to take part in this season-long initiative.
Our homestand concludes on Wednesday April 25, when the PawSox will be hosting their second "First Responder Wednesday" of the season. Police Officers, Firefighters, and EMTs will be able to get into games for free on Wednesdays all season long when they present valid ID at the ticket office. This first-year program is a salute to those who serve our community, and it's brought to you by National Grid.
