Portland, Maine - The Hartford Yards Goats (25-20) beat the Portland Sea Dogs (15-28) for the ninth straight time, 5-2, Wednesday night at Hadlock Field. The 'Dogs look to salvage the series finale on Thursday morning.

Peter Lambert (3-1) earned the win for Hartford, working 5.2 innings on eight hits, two runs, no walks and five strikeouts.
Danny Mars nailed a one-out double in the ninth inning, but Matt Pierpont worked around that hit to notch his 13th save of the season.
Matt Kent (2-2) had his two-game winning streak snapped, taking the loss for Portland. The lefty allowed eight hits and four runs over 5.2 innings. 
Hartford snapped a scoreless game in the fourth inning with three runs off Kent. Brian Mundell led off the frame with a solo homer to left-center. Later in the inning, Scott Burcham added a sacrifice fly, and Ryan Metlzer provided a run-scoring double. 
Portland got on the board in the fifth inning against Lambert. Jeremy Rivera led off with a double and scored on a single by Jantzen Witte. Metzler nailed his second RBI double in the next half inning to put the 'Goats ahead 4-1.
Austin Rei cracked a solo-homer with two outs in the sixth inning on the 100th pitch thrown by Lambert. Rei cleared the Maine Monster for his first Hadlock Field homer.
Hartford answered Rei's homer in the eighth when Mylz Jones (3-for-3) cracked a solo-homer off the Hannaford sign about the Maine Monster, giving the visitor's a 5-2 lead.
Portland's trio of Kent, Lau and Daniel McGrath combined to fan a season-high 13 batters. Metzler had three doubles for the Yard Goats, the most against the Sea Dogs by an opponent this season.
Portland and Hartford wrap-up a three-game series on Thursday morning beginning at 11 AM from Hadlock Field. Right-hander Teddy Stankiewicz (3-4, 5.40) makes his ninth appearance of the season.
