'Dogs held to three hits

Hartford, Conn. - The Hartford Yard Goats (42-44) scored all their runs with two outs, beating the Portland Sea Dogs (34-52), 5-0 on Saturday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The loss snapped Portland's three-game winning streak.

Hartford righty Rico Garcia (1-0) fired six innings on just three hits, two walks, and seven strikeouts to earn his first Double-A win. The Goats bullpen of Logan Cozart and Matt Pierpont worked three perfect innings. Portland did not have a runner reach third base.
Lefty Matt Kent (5-6) took the loss for the 'Dogs, giving up four runs on eight hits over six innings pitched. 
Michael Chavis made his season debut for Portland and went struck out four times.
Hartford scored three times in the first inning off Kent. Sam Hilliard nailed an RBI double, and Dom Nuñez knocked in two with a single.
Mylz Jones had an RBI single off Kent in the fourth, and Brandon Bednar delivered an RBI single off Travis Lakins in the eighth.
The Sea Dogs had just three hits, receiving singles from Tony Renda and Jeremy Rivera. Josh Ockimey went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.
The Sea Dogs and Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies affiliate) play the final game before the All-Star Break on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 PM from Dunkin' Donuts Park. Right-hander Mike Shawaryn (4-6, 3.55) makes his 16th start of the season. Hartford counters with righty Jesus Tinoco (5-7, 5.46).
