Haugh Dominates, Donay Homers in RiverDogs' 2-1 Win

Charleston, SC – Behind Aidan Haugh’s dominant start, the Charleston RiverDogs earned a 2-1 win over the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers in front of 3,044 fans at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

Kannapolis opened scoring early in the top of the first when Grayson Fitzwater lined an RBI single to center to make it 1-0.

The RiverDogs responded quickly in the bottom of the second when Brody Donay blasted a solo shot to left to even the score at 1-1. The ball left his bat at 110 miles per hour.

Aidan Haugh settled in afterwards, completing seven innings allowing just the one unearned run. It marked his second outing of his career completing seven frames.

Still tied at 1-1 in the eighth, Taitn Gray rolled an RBI single to center to bring home Andreimi Antunez and deliver the lead.

Efrailin Ramos was tremendous in relief delivering two scoreless innings to earn his second Single-A win. Across 17.1 innings since his promotion to Charleston, he hasn’t allowed a run and limited opponents to a .136 average.

With the win, the RiverDogs moved to 58-46 and 22-17 in the second half, while Kannapolis fell to 54-51, and 22-18 in the second half. The two return to the Joe on Thursday night for game four of the series. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:50 on the RiverDogs Broadcast Network.

After clinching the Carolina League South first half title, the RiverDogs have secured a spot in the 2026 postseason, presented by Nucor Steel Berkeley. The best-of-three Division Series begins on Tuesday, September 8. Thanks to their first-half division title, the RiverDogs are guaranteed to host Game 2, and, if necessary, Game 3, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on September 10 and 11.

Ballpark Fun:

The Joe went back to ancient Greece for The Great Greek Odyssey, with togas, Greek-themed games, and lots of chances for fans to prove they were worthy of the greek gods! The toga party took over the ballpark as fans joined in on the fun and competed in contests throughout the night.

And because it was Thursday, the party was already in full swing with $1 beers, DJs, and another Thirsty Thursday crowd bringing the energy. With the togas, Greek-inspired fun, and one of the liveliest nights of the week, The Great Greek Odyssey made for a Thursday night of fun.
