Hens sweep Clippers thanks to comeback win

The Toledo Mud Hens have now won five straight games after an 8-4 victory over the Columbus Clippers. The Mud Hens trailed 3-1 after two innings but used a six run sixth inning to defeat the division rival Clippers.

OF Jim Adduci opened the scoring in the second inning for the Mud Hens (21-11) by stealing second base, then advancing to third on an error by Columbus (15-17) catcher Eric Haase and scoring on an error by the Clippers center fielder Brandon Barnes.
Adduci would score again in the fourth thanks to a single by IF Edwin Espinal.
Toledo would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Jarrod Saltalamacchia scoring Christin Stewart. On the next pitch, Harold Castro would mimic Saltalamcchia's hit and plate Adduci. Ronny Rodríguez would then double off the center field wall scoring Kody Eaves and Saltalamacchia. Jason Krizan then put a single in to right field scoring Castro and Rodriguez. The score at the end of the sixth had the home team on top 8-3.
Phillippe Aumont recorded the win for the Hens going three innings, striking out two, allowing two hits and zero runs.
Toledo closer Louis Coleman recorded his eighth save of the campaign going 0.2 innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs.
IF Kody Eaves recorded two highlight plays with a diving catch in the second and a backhand and fire to first to end the top of the fourth inning.
The Mud Hens will look to continue their hot streak on the road as the travel to Louisville to face the Bats in a three-game series. Toledo is 4-2 against the Bats this season.
The first pitch from Louisville Slugger Field will be at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night.
