The Hillsboro Hops defeated the Everett AquaSox by a score of 3-1 on Thursday Night. This victory is the SEVENTH consecutive win for the Hillsboro Hops and the second time this season they have won seven straight.

The Hops got off to a rapid start as leadoff hitter Jake McCarthy crushed a triple into the right center gap. Shortstop Geraldo Perdomo immediately drove him in with a ground ball to second base putting the Hops up one.
Hillsboro's Matt Tabor threw four innings, scattering three hits, allowing one run, and striking out two-- lowering his earned run average to 3.23. The one Everett run came in the top of the third on a Josh Stowers single to right, aside from that, all zeros.
In the bottom of the sixth Joey Rose punched a single through the five-six hole to drive in fellow infielder L.T. Tolbert and to give the Hops a 2-1 lead. The Hops held this lead with shutout performances from Ethan Larrison, Christofer Ogando, Trevor McKenna, and Chester Pimentel -- who picked up his sixth save.
Rose added another in the bottom of the eighth inning, driving Tolbert in on a sacrifice fly.
The Hops move to 22 games over .500 with an overall record of 44-22 and are now 20-8 in the second half.
Game 2 begins at 7:05pm Friday Night at Ron Tonkin Field. Tune in to Rip City Radio 620AM.
