Hillsboro Hops Fund Surpasses $1 Million in Community Donations

Hillsboro, Ore. (September 28, 2026) – The Hillsboro Hops are celebrating a major milestone in their continued commitment to supporting the local community: the Hillsboro Hops Fund has now surpassed $1 million in donations to organizations, programs, student-athletes and families throughout the region.

Since its inception, the Hillsboro Hops Fund has provided more than 400 grants and scholarships, with the majority supporting organizations and individuals in Hillsboro and throughout the Portland metro area. The Fund’s reach has extended beyond the immediate community as well, with funding supporting causes and programs in Astoria, Southwest Washington, Canby and Milwaukie.

"When we established the Hillsboro Hops Fund in 2014, following our inaugural season in Hillsboro, we were both enthusiastic and uncertain that we could make a significant difference for our new hometown,” said Hillsboro Hops Owner Mike McMurray. “Thirteen years and $1 million later, we are very proud that the community has joined us to create scholarships and enhance sports opportunities for local youth at a level beyond our wildest dreams. With the continued support of Hops' fans, we know that the best is yet to come."

The impact of those contributions can be seen across generations and communities. Collectively, Hillsboro Hops Fund grants have helped programs reach more than 100,000 youth athletes, providing opportunities for young people to participate in sports and develop valuable skills both on and off the field.
Education has also remained a key focus of the Fund. 55 students have received scholarships, including 51 first-generation college students. These scholarships help remove financial barriers and create opportunities for students and their families as they pursue higher education.

The Hillsboro Hops are inviting fans and community members to experience Hops Ballpark like never before at Take Me Out to the Ballpark: A Social Evening with Purpose. The exclusive after-hours event on Saturday, November 7th at 7:00 PM will bring the community together for an evening of entertainment, socializing and behind-the-scenes access, all while supporting the Hillsboro Hops Fund and its mission to create opportunities for local students and youth athletes.

Guests will have the opportunity to explore Hops Ballpark in a whole new way, with interactive games, raffles, entertainment and more throughout the evening. Tickets are on sale now with each ticket including event access, drinks and heavy appetizers. Must be 21 or older to attend.
