THIS DAY IN RED WINGS HISTORY
1989 - Wings snap five game losing streak as Schilling pitches life into Wings. Mired in the midst of a five-game losing streak, Rochester pitcher Curt Schilling made sure the Wings would lose no more. Schilling (5-3) went the distance, striking out 10 Indians, while giving up only one run on six hits, as Rochester beat Indianapolis 7-1. Catcher Chris Hoiles provided the offensive support, going two-for-three at the plate, including stroking his third home run of the year, while driving in three runs. SS Tim Hulett had four hits, and drove in two runs to pace Rochester to victory. Rochester put two runs on the board in the second, and added a pair in the third, providing more than enough run support for Schilling. The Wings offense, which had scored just seven runs during the losing streak, equaled that total in the win.
1999 - Red Wings pitchers combined for 21 strikeouts in 14 innings, as Rochester swept Ottawa 4-3 and 4-1 in a doubleheader at Frontier Field. Gabe Molina picked up his first win of the season in game 1 and Calvin Maduro had a complete game victory in game 2.
2006 - Josh Rabe's solo homer highlighted a four-run 11th inning as visiting Rochester beat Toledo 9-5.
