The Hooks jumped out to an early 5-0 lead against lefty Ryne Slack. In the second, Alex De Goti plated Carmen Benedetti with a base hit into center field.
Corpus Christi (24-18) added four more markers in the next frame, with three coming on a two-out home run by Randy César down the left-field line.
Cesar, who will enter play Sunday with a 12-game hit streak, has two home runs and seven RBIs in his last three games.
Corbin Martin, making his fourth Double-A appearance, retired the first eight hitters he faced Saturday night. The RoughRiders (13-29) managed only one run on four hits in his five innings of work.
Frisco broke through in the sixth. With two away and the bases loaded, eight-hole hitter Yanio Perez sent a 1-2 breaking ball from Yoanys Quiala into the left-field corner, making it a 5-4 contest.
Quiala (3-4) penned a 1-2-3 seventh but would not make it out of the eighth. A walk and infield hit began the inning. One out later, seven-hole hitter Carlos Garay lined a two-run single up the middle to push the Riders in front, 6-5. Two batters later, Juremi Profar plated a pair with a double to left. Jose Trevino capped the six-run barrage via a sac fly.
The Hooks, who have dropped the first two in Frisco, will send lefty Cionel Pérez (3-1, 1.59) to the hill Sunday afternoon. First pitch 4:05.
