CORPUS CHRISTI - The Hooks fell to the Frisco RoughRiders in 12 innings on Monday night at Whataburger Field, 12-1.

Hooks starter Ryan Hartman fired four no-hit frames before surrendering a solo homer to Corelle Prime in the fifth as Frisco jumped out to a 1-0 edge.
RoughRiders starter Ariel Jurado tossed six scoreless frames before serving up a game-tying blast to Carmen Benedetti in the seventh. Benedetti's homer to left field was his second of the 2018 campaign.
The contest turned into a battle of bullpens in the late inning. Right-hander Erasmo Pinales replaced Hartman in the sixth and went on to throw 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Frisco reliever Johnny Fasola relieved Jurado in the eighth to get the final out of the frame.
The ninth inning began with the game still tied at 1-1. Corpus Christi righty Kevin Hill retired the side in order while lefty Brady Feigl retired the Hooks without a run scoring in the bottom half of the inning.
Both pitchers spun scoreless frames in the 10th and 11th, as neither team could plate a run despite having an automatic runner begin on second base with nobody out.
In the 12th, the RoughRiders scratched a run across against Hill on Michael De Leon's sacrifice fly to take a 2-1 lead. Despite having the tying and winning runs in scoring position in the bottom of the 12th, the Hooks were unable to score against lefty Ryne Slack to end the game. Slack picked up his first save of the season.
The Hooks begin an eight-game road trip with a series opener at Midland on Tuesday night. The RockHounds send RHP Ben Bracewell to the mound as the Hooks counter with RHP Brock Dykxhoorn.
