CORPUS CHRISTI-The Hooks rallied for four eighth inning runs Tuesday night in a 5-4 comeback win over the Missions at Whataburger Field.
The Missions Taylor Kohlwey slugged a three-run homer in the top of the eighth to give San Antonio a short-lived 3-1 lead.
Kohlwey's homer came an inning after Ty France singled to spoil a perfect game bid by Hooks start Corbin Martin, who had retired the first 20 San Antonio batters.
Chris Paddack turned in another impressive start for the Missions.
The right-hander allowed only a first inning run over his five innings of work while fanning seven.
Andres Munoz was charged with the loss and his first blown save in a Missions uniform.
The loss dropped San Antonio into third place. They trail Frisco by a half game and are 2 ½ games behind first place Corpus.
