Hosmer played in all 162 games for the Royals in 2017, recording career-highs in batting average (.318), runs (98), on-base percentage (.385), slugging percentage (.498) and OPS (.882), in addition to matching his career-high in home runs (25). In seven seasons with Kansas City he has combined for a .284 average (1132-3991) with 547 runs, 206 doubles, 16 triples, 127 homers and 566 RBI over 1,048 total contests with the Royals.
The 28-year-old played with the Storm Chasers during parts of the 2011 and 2014 campaigns, accumulating a .426 mark (46-108) along with 23 runs, five doubles, four homers and 18 RBI. He played in the first Storm Chasers contest in Werner Park history on April 16, 2011, drawing the first walk in the ballpark's history before later scoring the first run in that matchup against the Nashville Sounds. One of Hosmer's biggest hits in his Triple-A career was a walk-off single with Omaha as part of a Major League Rehab Assignment on August 30, 2014, that helped lead the Storm Chasers to a division title. The squad would go on to win the second of their Back-to-Back Triple-A National Championships.
