Brock Dykxhoorn and Ben Bracewell traded zeros through the first five frames. After issuing a walk to begin the sixth, Dykxhoorn struck out two in a row before exiting the contest.

The Hooks seized the advantage in the home half. A walk and hit batsman ended the night of Ben Bracewell. Reliever Jarret Martin surrendered RBI singles by Yordan Alvarez and Carmen Benedetti as Corpus Christi went up by two.
Two Hooks errors led to a trio of runs by Midland in the home half. Brett Vertigan's opposite field two-run single capped the rally.
The series continues Wednesday with an 11 a.m. tilt. Yoanys Quiala (1-2, 6.11) is slated to pitch, and the game will be carried in Corpus Christi on 1400 KUNO-AM.
