Tied 1-1 in the fourth inning, Iowa erupted for six runs in the bottom half of the inning. Chas McCormick hit a two-run home run, Jordan Nwogu hit a two-run triple, while Justin Dean and Kevin Alcantara drove in a pair of runs to give the I-Cubs a 7-1 lead.
Toledo responded with a six-run inning of their own to tie the game at 7-7. The Mud Hens hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the ninth inning to take the lead for good.
