Important Parking Information for Total Eclipse of the Park

COLUMBIA, SC - One of the greatest astrological phenomena in a generation will occur on Monday, August 21, as Columbia residents and tourists alike will look to the skies and watch daylight turn to twilight and back during the total solar eclipse. The Columbia Fireflies are hosting 'Total Eclipse of the Park' on Monday afternoon in conjunction with their game against the Rome Braves at Spirit Communications Park. With the large crowd anticipated for Monday, the Fireflies have important parking information for its fans to make sure arrivals at Spirit Communications Park run as smoothly as possible during the morning before the game and into the afternoon.
First pitch on Monday is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. and gates open at 10:00 a.m. The iMAGINE STEM Festival will begin at 10 a.m., so most fans will be arriving to the park early. Parking lots for the game will open on Monday at 9 a.m. However, the State lots on Bull Street are unavailable for fan parking. In addition to the general parking lots located in the Bull Street Neighborhood surrounding the ballpark, fans will also have the option to park at 1401 Sunset Drive (the old Sam's Club location), located just west of SC 277. The Fireflies will offer a free shuttle from this lot to Spirit Communications Park via chartered buses.
