Indians Batters Back Bullpen Game With 9-1 Victory

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Indians ran away with Game 2 of the series, 9-1, against the Omaha Storm Chasers on Wednesday night at Victory Field. Nick Yorke led the charge with four RBI, one short of his career high. RHP Noah Davis (S, 1) and RHP Noah Murdock (W, 1-2) each collected season-firsts, the save and win, respectively.
The Indians (37-28, 68-72) were hot off the bat, scoring five runs in the first inning. Enmanuel Valdez and Jack Brannigan each drove in a run, and Yorke capped off the frame with a three-run home run, sending it 403 feet over the center-field wall.
Nick Cimillo tacked on a pair of runs in the third inning, 7-0, with an RBI double.
Indianapolis chased Omaha’s (30-33, 63-74) starter Henry Williams (L, 5-5) out of the game in the fourth inning. With two outs, Valdez launched a solo shot for his 18th home run of the year. Brannigan followed with a triple, and Yorke brought him home with an RBI single to extend the lead to 9-0.
Storm Chasers’ first baseman Jorge Alfaro plated their lone run of the contest to make it 9-1, rocketing a 110.8 MPH RBI single to left field.
Davis made his third relief appearance of the year and entered in the seventh inning. He tossed the final three innings and did not allow a run to secure his first save since doing so on Aug. 27, 2025, with St. Paul at Toledo. Murdock pitched a scoreless third and fourth innings to earn his first Triple-A win of the season.
The Indians and the Storm Chasers meet again at 6:35 PM ET on Thursday night as they continue Indianapolis’ final homestand of the 2026 season. Hard-throwing right-hander Antwone Kelly (5-6, 4.24) will take the bump for the Indians, facing Omaha’s southpaw John Means (0-0, 3.00).
