DES MOINES - The Iowa Cubs (38-44) swept the Round Rock Express (38-44) in a Saturday night doubleheader at Principal Park. The I-Cubs clobbered the Express in game one, taking a 13-4 victory, and followed with a 5-2 win in the nightcap.

Iowa and Round Rock picked up game two in the bottom of the second, completing a contest that was suspended at Dell Diamond on June 25. Iowa's bats were live as 14 hits were added to the three already recorded earlier this week. The I-Cubs put up a five-run fourth and followed with crooked numbers in each of the next three frames. The Iowa lineup knocked a season-best 17 hits as four I-Cubs collected multi-hit games.
Stephen Bruno had a career game, tying career-best marks with four hits and two home runs - both three-run shots. His six RBI set a new personal best. Chris Dominguez also notched a four-hit game, his first four-hit game of the season, and Jacob Hannemann was 3-for-6.
Iowa's bats stayed hot for game two as the home team put two runs on the board in the opening frame on an opposite field homer from Kyle Schwarber. Iowa worked to a 4-2 lead before Schwarber did it again, shooting a mammoth homer over the right field scoreboard to notch his second two-homer game in as many days.
David Rollins (3-3) was the winner for Iowa in game one and Williams Pérez (4-7) grabbed his fourth consecutive victory as he claimed game two.
Iowa begins its holiday celebration with a fireworks show following tomorrow's 7:08 p.m. game against Round Rock at Principal Park. For more information or tickets, visit www.iowacubs.com.
