ABERDEEN, MD. - Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium hosted the rubber match between the IronBirds and the Vermont Lake Monsters. Runs in four straight innings for Vermont led to an 11-2 Aberdeen loss.
BACK AND FORTH: Vermont put the first run on the board when Ryan Gridley scored on a double-play-ball in the second inning. Aberdeen matched that run with one of their own on an RBI single from Jaylen Ferguson. After the second the game was tied at one.
SCORE, SCORE, SCORE: Three innings would bring the Lake Monsters ten runs. Cameron Ming gave up six runs, Josh Keaton allowed another four. Aaron Arruda's two run homerun in the fourth seemed to be the dagger. A five run fifth inning made it 11-1 through four and a half.
Irving Ortega brought some cheers to Ripken Stadium with a tripple in the fifth. Kirvin Moesquit brought him home on a ground out and made it 11-2 after five.
VERMONT HEADS NORTH: Eleven runs and fourteen hits propelled the Lake Monsters to a series victory. The IronBirds matched their effort with just six hits and two runs.
