Isabel's Massive Night Leads Quakes to Victory in Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore, CA- Ibandel Isabel's franchise-record eight RBIs propelled the Quakes to a 12-6 win over Lake Elsinore on Friday night.
The eight RBIs broke a franchise-mark of seven set by five Quakes, most recently by Carlos Duncan. Duncan knocked in seven twice in the 2002 season.
Isabel provided the fireworks at The Diamond, going 4-for-5 with a double, two home runs, three runs and the personal career-high eight RBIs.
Isabel's big night started early. With the Quakes trailing 2-0 in the second, he blasted a three-run home run to give Rancho the lead, 3-2.
In the fourth, he tacked on when he lined a ball off the wall in right-center for an RBI single, but was thrown out at second trying to stretch it to a double.
The Storm came back with a run in the fifth, when Michael Gettys stole third and scored on interference, and a run in the sixth to tie the game on a Chris Baker RBI single.
River Stevens then launched a two-run doubled high off the wall in right to give the Storm a 6-4 lead in the seventh, but the Quakes were not done.
In the eighth, Zach Reks tied the game with a two-run, two-out single, Isabel doubled him home to give the Quakes the lead and Brandon Montgomery added on with an RBI single to make it 8-6.
The ninth inning brought Isabel another chance to add to his historic night. After Keibert Ruiz doubled home Luke Raley to make it 9-6, Isabel crushed his second three-run home run of the night, this one over the scoreboard in right-center field, to make it 12-6.
With two home runs, Isabel now has 26, which leads the California League. His 77 RBIs are now third in the league before Lancaster's Sam Hilliard (82) and Stockton's Seth Brown (80).
The performance backed Nolan Long (1-0). After he allowed two runs in the seventh, Long took home the win and Tony Gonsolin recorded the last six outs for his fourth save on the season.
Despite throwing seven and two-thirds innings, Jerry Keel (1-3) was handed the loss for the Storm. He allowed seven runs on 10 hits while striking out seven and walking two.
After Lancaster took down Inland Empire on Friday, Rancho still has a two-game lead over the JetHawks and a four-game lead now over 66ers in the South Division with 15 games remaining in the season.
Rancho Cucamonga (33-22, 69-56) and Lake Elsinore (22-32, 57-68) will meet up on Saturday, August 19th, for the second game of the three-game series at 6:00 pm. Rancho is expected to turn to left-hander Devin Smeltzer (4-4), while the Storm will send righty Adrian De Horta (2-1) to the mound.
Rancho will return home on Tuesday, August 22^nd, for the first game of a three-game set with the Lake Elsinore Storm. Tuesday's game will be Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday.
