INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Indians, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Pirates, today announced that right-hander Jameson Taillon will make a rehab start for the Tribe on Friday night against Gwinnett at Victory Field. Taillon, 25, underwent testicular cancer surgery May 8 and is nearing the final stages of his return to the big leagues after throwing three scoreless innings this past Sunday with Double-A Altoona.

"(Jameson) Taillon's miraculous and quick return to the mound will inspire our team, our staff and our fans in many ways on Friday night," said Andy Barkett, Indianapolis Indians manager. "We can't wait to see him take the field."
Over the last week, many Indians players - like those in Pittsburgh - have shown support for their former teammate and friend by wearing purple wristbands labeled Jamo #50.
Selected No. 2 overall in the 2010 MLB Draft behind Washington's Bryce Harper, Taillon has posted a 7-5 mark and 3.36 ERA (52 ER in 139.1 IP) in 24 career big-league starts. Taillon previously pitched for Indy in 2013 and 2016, combining for a 5-5 record and 2.74 ERA (30 ER in 98.2 IP) in 16 starts.
