The Chandler, Arizona native entered the week hitting .120, but bumped that up to .247 in just seven games. He hit .481 (13-for-27) with six doubles, a triple and nine runs batted in. He busted out of a slump in a big way April 24 in Biloxi, going 4-for-5 with three doubles and a triple. His four extra-base knocks were one shy of tying a Southern League record.
The next night, Westbrook went hitless for the only time all week. Wednesday, he started what is currently a six-game hitting streak with a pair of hits and an RBI. He had two or more knocks in four of the seven games he played in. The second baseman and outfielder got off to a hot start this week, hitting his first home run in Monday's loss to Chattanooga.
The Generals return home to West Tennessee Monday to kick off a ten-game homestand. The first five are against the Tennessee Smokies before the team welcomes the Pensacola Blue Wahoos to town.
